Bailey


Description
The Poodle is an active, intelligent and elegant-appearing dog. They are well proportioned, squarely built. There are three varieties of Poodle; Toy, Miniature, and Standard. All are similar except in height.


Size
The Standard Poodle is 15 inches or more and weighs 45-70 pounds. The Miniature Poodle is 11-15 inches tall and weighs 15-17 pounds. The Toy Poodle is up to 10 inches tall and weighs 6-9 pounds.


Color
The Poodle has several standard colors including; apricot, black, blue, brown, cafe Au Lait, cream, gray, red, silver, silver beige, and white.


Temperament
The poodle is sensitive and intelligent. They are highly responsive, happy, amusing, clever, and generally good with other pets and dogs.


Care
Poodles need regular grooming including bathing and clipping. Check the ears for infection and for hairs growing. Clean and check eyes.


Exercise
The Poodle needs daily exercise in the form of a brisk, walk. They also enjoy playtime in a large fenced in area.


Training
The poodle is one of the most trainable breeds and should be socialized as a puppy.


Shedding
Poodles shed little to no hair and are good for allergy sufferers.


Allergies
Some do have skin allergies.


Barking & Howling
Unless trained, this breed tends to bark a lot.


Life Expectancy
A well cared for Poodle can live about 12-15 or more years.


Health
The Poodle is a health breed, but some can be prone to ear infections, runny eyes, digestive tract, heart disorders, and skin conditions.
